The OCR for Chinese, Japanese and Korean activity is now an official activity of the UiPath.OCR.Activities package.
The API Key field of the UiPath Document OCR and OCR for Chinese, Japanese and Korean activities are automatically populated with the key retrieved from the project settings, or from the Document Understanding Cloud Platform.

The UiPath.OCR.Activities package has been upgraded to .NET6.

If you experience timeouts due to long processing time, you can now use the newly added Timeout parameter for UiPath Document OCR and UiPath Screen OCR activities to increase the service call timeout.
The UiPath.OCR.Activities package has been upgraded to .NET5. While both .NET versions continue to be supported, the .NET5 projects can only work on 64-bit architectures.
Added the UseLocalServer property for the UiPath Document OCR and UiPath Screen OCR activities which now makes it possible to run these OCR activities locally on the robot machine.
Improvements have been made to optimize the OCR results on scanned documents. Best results are obtained by keeping the skew angle between +/- 20 degrees.
Due to improvements to image processing algorithms, changes might appear in the digitization of certain documents.
- Fixed a bug that was causing the UiPath Document OCR and UiPath Screen OCR activities to stop working when a proxy with authentication was configured by the user on their machine.
- Fixed a bug that was causing the OCR engine to return an error on certain air-gapped systems.

A new OCR engine is added to the pre-existing list of OCR engines, namely UiPath Document OCR which is now publicly available for processing West European languages on regular documents.

The package has been updated to UiPath.OCR.Activities and it includes the UiPath Screen OCR activity which can be used as an OCR option in the Screen Scraping wizard or other instances that are using an OCR engine.
